Re[18]: Ballast valve addition
Index Previous in Thread Next in Thread

This ballast valve is looking more like a necessity. Yesterday, without opening the micromaze up to air, I added the air cooled dif pump. I cleaned it with soap and water, and baked it in the oven at 300 deg F for two hrs to dry. Just this addition, with no oil in the pump, combined with bringing the chamber up to air, saturated the micromaze, necessitating a micromaze bake out. With the micromaze lactating water into the pump oil, and no ballast valve, my pump oil now looks like milk. This could mean an oil change every time I open the system to air!

I think I will just buy the needed ballast valve hardware from Welch, and I am also considering the purchase of a valve to place between the diff pump and the chamber.
