Re[5]: Micromaze usage - ballasting

I still haven't given up on the the addition of a gas ballast valve. I ordered the nipple ($17.00) and some aluminum gaskets from Welch. The nipple was not what I thought it would be. It is threaded on one end to go tito the valve body, but it has a socket on the other end that looks like it is held onto the pump body by that aluminum flange. I called Welch again today they are sending me the instruction manual for the Welch 1400.

I asked them if the gas ballast valve kit (Part# 1414b now ~$98.00) will work on a 1400. The tech didnt know but he is supposed to call me back tomorrow. I am assuming that I can get the aluminum flange, drill and tap two 8-32 holes in the pump body and I will have a working gas ballast valve. This may prove to be a false hope.
