Re[12]: Micromaze usage - ballasting

Yes, Richard you are correct. I only need to open the valve for a few minutes to get down to 50 microns in the chamber. I had to play with my new toy, to see what it would do to the oil temp at max fore line vacuum, so I left it open for an hour.

I called Welch again today, according to another tech, they have a subsitute for the GBV kit, It is part #41-1736, vented exhaust valve, $34.12, that replaces the lower plug. It is probably worth the price.

I have gone as far as I can go with my plastic chamber, I have ~10 micron fore line pressure and only ~15 micron chamber with the diff pump running (40 micron with diff pump off) the chamber leaks or out gasses like a screen door. I am going to order the parts for an 8" stainless chamber tomorrow.

I see by the pictures on the perfessers web site that Richard Hull has a very healthy looking HV pass through on fusor III, based on a 2.75" conflat flange. It is doesnt look like is is made from a spark plug. I have seen that insulator in one of my catalogs, but I can remember which one. Where did you get the Insulator? How was that thing made?
