What about welding flanged nipples to the chamber. My conflat 2.75" flanges require bolts AND nuts (the flanges are not threaded) and one is rotatable, so I an stuck with using nipples.

Should I turn a small lip on the nipple .060" long (the chamber thickness) and bore a hole in the chamber slightly smaller than the OD of the nipple? Or what obout boaring a weld flange in the chamber that is the OD of the nipple except for 0.030" depth that is the ID of the nipple? What is the best way to mate the surfaces?
