I have just been notified, (private E-mail), by Carl Willis of Guilford College (Greensboro, NC) that the college is funding his effort to build a simple fusor.
Details are still sketchy, but it is definitely a go project. The goal is to study the anode cathode ratios, and to produce neutrons via fusion.
I gave him this URL and asked him to post something on his work as it proceeded. The natural first questions he had related to gas purity and obtaining a neutron counter, most of which have been covered on past postings here.
Anyway, this was just a quick heads up on a possible new fusor effort. These things seem to make nice first pass fusion devices with positive results for all at a modest budget level.
