All three sets of SS hemispheres arrived today from Braun, and are just fine in every respect. They could acutally be used as is, but as is the case with all deep dish drawn material, there is a puffy lip at the equatorial zone of the halves which demands at least the sanding smooth of the flat diameter face so that the lip is absolutely plane and this will also widen it up a bid for welding. (Drawn lips thin out considerably after a small bulge at the equator). These puppys are about .125 thick which is excellent for welding operations.

Boy, that 3.5 inch sphere looks small. I have 3.5", 4" and 5" spheres as hemispheres.

I'll keep all of you good folk updated as the effort at a portable demo system advances.
