The following web link describes a neutron producing machine used to remotely detect land mines. It was operational in 1992 and built by the SAIC.
Evidently, it used an ionized deuteron beam to bombard a beryllium target to achieve Li/Be, Be/B, and T/He fusions.
It's not an IEC fusor, but the engineering concept is interesting...
