Carl’s Jr. gone Steampunk ?

Post by Mark Rowley »

Lately I’ve bern scouring the forums and internet for ideas about chamber cooling. One photo that were all familiar with was Carl Willis’s water cooled “Carl’s Jr” fusor he built over 15 years ago. Since 2017, I’ve seen a steampunk photo of an actual fusor converted to artwork on Pinterest that bears a striking resemblance to Carl’s old fusor.

I’ve posted both pictures (The real Carl’s Jr.) and the Steampunkized version. Fairly confident it’s Carl’s old fusor.

Can anyone confirm?

Oh well...What can one say. It lives on as junk art.

Anyone notice the $500 price tag? That's artsy smartzy!

Ring-a-ring-a-neutrons, pocket-full-of-positrons, a-fusion, a-fusion, we all fall down.

I don't know how I did no see the T-49 written in the base... I just saw the metal cusp and assumed it was a voltage regulator.

I especially like the 'eye glasses' on the base - it appears they have working lens! Nice touch.

Looks like a WWII VT-41 to me.

I have a vague feeling that I gave those springs to Carl as they appear to be identical to the front fork springs we used in our motocross racing machines.
