Hamfest buy
Index Previous in Thread Next in Thread

I went to the Eau Claire hamfest on Saturday. It was rather small and all over by noon. Mostly PC related stuff and some very old ham rodio equipment.

I did manage to find a single board, matck box sized, B&W TV camera (12v, 100ma) for $20.00.

As stated on another thread it really does give a good picture of the IR emission of the plasma. I was amazed to see how hot the bugle portion of the plasms is, and star mode is much more brilliant and better defined.

The only problem is that the display is a little too bright and washed out at times. I could have purchased a larger surveillance type camera with a 25mm lense and auto iris for $50.00, but I passed on it. I am still using a color monitor.

I am considering trying to get some 35mm film pictures using IR film. Does anyone have any experience with this?
