Re[4]: Strip Cathode Picture

i am not ready to disclose full details on our power supply (basically because we are currently pat pending on other plasma applications).

but yes it is pulsing, very fast rise time, rich harmonics, programable tone bursts and reprate. rep rate, currently @ 100kc. i am building another that will extend up to 500.

*** we just tried another unit i have here and increased the current draw over 22 amps.

*i have an 8kv power supply that can pulse at low rep rate but with a rise time of 600 puffs (picoseconds),(previous load, exact rise time with an iec will depend on the inductance& cap)at a current of over 3000 amps. i will have to try that unit on the iec...

i can't wait for our dector...

actually it should be possible to pulse an iec by self switching. this could provide for extremely high current pulses and short rise times. in effect an ied krytron....given the surface area of the cathode and with a nano-pico second rise and a several nano sec pulse width, the sturucture probably could withstand over 100,000 amp pulses with a 100hz reprate.

hmm, i'm going to go study producing a high current self switching fusor...(think i'll dub it a deptron)

sincerely,

daniel preston
