Issue 1 of Vol. 9 (Winter 2000) of "the Bell Jar" had an extensive article by Axel Schmetzke on the Hastings (DV) gauges which corrects a few things in the earlier articles and greatly expands on the characteristics, etc. The article is only in print form.
