I have read that the University of Illinious uses high pressure hydrogen cooled by liquid nitrogen. The tubing diameter is 1/2 inch with a mass flow rate of 100 g/s and a pressure of 20 MPA.
In a .2 meter IEC the heat loading is 1.3 megawatts max.
Their grid is composed of ss tubing.
I don't know how useful this is. Any comments?
REF:Fusion Energy in Space Propulsion, vol 167,isbn 1-56347-164-1 I purchased this book in 1996... A great reference into all existing fusion programs...worth a look. It has a full chapter on IEC Fusion pages 167-177
