The first issue when we consider ANY "alternative" is that we lose what we've got here, or have to transfer it at considerable cost of personal labor. That's a consequence we have to keep in mind.

That said, I suspect that there might be decent message-center software that we could set up under our own domain, and yes, that's an option. But then somebody will have to serve as webmaster, or I'm gonna have to learn more about CGI, etc. In any event, there is effort involved, and effort impies cost.

Also, there are still hosting costs associated with having our own domain and site, relatively nominal as they may be (compared to, say, $150/mo). Like I said, no free lunch.

These are precisely the kinds of ideas I think should be thoroughy thrashed out before any decisions are made. Thanks, Dave.
