Good to see someone who isn't afraid to do their own work. I have a couple of 1402's dismantled and am cleaning up the parts. I need to know how to adjust the clearance between the rotor and the case on these things. It seems that the clearance that you used must have been correct. I have heard that this is very critical. Too close and the whole thing is damaged and too far away and it won't pull down good.
I will be thankfull for any help you can offer on overhauling the vacuum pumps.
