Point 1 I had not realized RE was so plentiful. I had the painful task of buying yittrium in a 3k quantity about 3 years ago. Insane! Point 2 The Navy would like to do that but the shift will be away from vunerable surface ships to more subsurface ops. More nukes...more subs. Fewer port calls. ERDA will wheel out the integral fast breeder reactor as the answer to all our prayers! No unsightly shipping of rad waste. All on site. I wonder if the folks in Nevada know whats coming? That enriched stuff has gone to the defense fuel stockpile just like oil gets into the strategic reserve.
Prayer is definely in order.
