I thought patents are issued for actual devices, not simply ideas. Does Miley have an actual device here, worthy of a patent, or has he just nailed down the broad concept, which will compel somebody who comes up with a practical device to pay "tribute" to him for simply having "the idea" first?
Isn't this an abuse of the patent system?
I mean, if all it took was "an idea," Farnsworth never would have won his litigation with Zworykin...
