It looks like I have to buy some high vacuum valves (mucho$). Can I use copper pipe in the system up to the vacuum chamber? I plan to use forged or non cast copper fittings and brass valves. What is the minimum practical size of the pipe 1/2", 3/4",or 1"? I would prefer to avoid silver soldering to the valves (silver soldering the other fittings I have no problem with) If I buy NPT thread valves, what is the best way to get a good seal? Is teflon pipe tape ok, if not what is?
