Clean the dirt out. Is there any noticable scarring of the sliding surfaces?

I'm not familiar with Edwards' shaft seals. Usually the best thing is to purchase a replacement seal assembly. Typically not very expensive.

I'll be interested in seeing your Pirani gauge readings.
