According to Welch, the valve kit,Part #61-8005b is now part #1414B
Last night I thought about just turning the stud around, silver soldering the nipple end into the valve assembly, and screwing thr other end into the pump. I went to my brothers today, he has all my fathers tools, (when I was in high school, I was the only kid in my class with a complete machine shop in the basement).
Well anyway I got the soldering job done, and I now have a complete gas ballast valve that works. I get that burping leak sound with the valve open.
