Richard,in welding the LF200 flange to the 8' hemispheres, the relative thickness is fixed by the geometry.

Do you mean that the weld should go on the INNER surface of the chamber and NOT in the "V" groove where the hemisphere meets the flange on the exterior of the chamber?

Isn't there danger that the mating surface could get splattered with molten metal? If so what is a good way to protect it other than being VERY carefull?
