Yes, although its sensitivity to thermal neutrons is significantly better. I'm going to encase it in polyethylene soon to thermalize the fast neutrons.
I've got a lot of experience with x-ray detectors and almost none with neutron detectors. I'll let you know what I find out as things progress.
