I have just become interested in fusors and fusor construction. In particular, I am interested in the EXL configuration, where a positively charged inner grid confines a large population of electrons and ions are generated just inside this grid. I think Dr Bussard's suggestion that the inner grid be magnetized to deflect electrons from hitting it is a practical way to make this arrangement work. Has anyone built a machine of this type, and what were your results?
