I agree -- Moore/Davis/Coplan is a nice addition to the library. What it lacks in vacuum tutorial is made up for by the info in the back of the Lesker catalog.

There is an older tome which Lindsay Press sells called _Procedures in Experimental Physics_, originally published in the 1920's, which shows you how to build stuff from scratch. Fascinating, but you need to be pretty handy to try some of it.
