What I am looking for is a book that does a couple of things:
1) Provides the theory behind what is happening, including the math that is required. (There was a time when I was capable of doing the math, and I should be able to pick it up again.) That way I can design a supply that meets my criteria, and also learn the "why" of the design.
2) Provides practical design examples and technique. For example, what does a basic design look like and how does it perform? What parameters do I need to manipulate to change the frequency or output voltage or whatever?
The problem is that these books start at $100 new and go up. You are right, I need a technical book store, but pickin's are slim around here.
