1) I agree with you. Your governor is a true politician. He only does the right thing when the polls show it is popular. I may disagree with CA residents on their ultra-environmental stance on power plants, but that is their choice. The fact that they do not have to pay higher prices for these higher priced sources is the problem. I don't take anybody to task for their decisions if they are willing to pay for them.
2) You will never have a US President taking a bold stance on fusion until somebody PROVES it can be an economical source of energy. I don't mean that they demonstrate Q>10 or anything like that. I mean they produce sustainable fusion and show that it can be scaled to a production power plant for under $.05 per Kw-hour.
