Re[8]: Diffusion Pump questions

My VMF-10 came with a 1.5 inch inlet. With the pump was an adapter that could be welded or soldered to the inlet. This adapter necks the inlet down to 7/8". My CVC catalog shows the pump on a stand with what appears to be a 1/2" compression fitting and an added length of 1.5" tubing on the inlet. So, does yours have some sort of added adapter to the inlet?

The outlet of mine is 1-1/8 inch but the pump also came with a similar adapter that reduces to 9/16".

The close spacing of inlet and outlet make connecting the pump a bit difficult without some sort of reduction or right angle fitting.

My solution was the vinyl tubing to a KF40 half nipple with no gap between the pump's inlet tube and the s/s tubing of the nipple. A bit of outgassing and permeation of course but tolerable.

At the inlet I did the same with a short piece of vinyl connecting to a 1" to 1/2" copper water tube reducer and then to 1/2" plastic foreline tubing.
