I am a neophyte in the area of neutrons. Can anybody point me to a source where I can learn about why neutrons can be detected, what exactly (on the quantum level) happens when a neutron interacts with a detector, and what kinds of detectors exist today? Something along the lines of the "Ionized Gases" book for plasmas would be great. (I am eagerly awaiting my copy of IG in the mail)
